Background

Suicide Zero, a Swedish non-profit organisation founded in 2013, is dedicated to reducing the number of suicides in Sweden, where approximately 1,500 individuals die by suicide annually. The organisation works to prevent suicide through education, influencing policymakers, and funding critical research. Suicide Zero’s vision is a society where no one feels the need to take their own life, comparable to Sweden’s vision for zero traffic fatalities. 

The organisation has grown significantly since its inception, now employing 27 people across Sweden with a headquarters in Stockholm. Funding primarily comes from private donations, which make up over 60% of their income, alongside contributions from companies and foundations​.

Challenge

One of Suicide Zero’s main challenges is ensuring a continuous and reliable stream of donations to support its activities. This involves effectively communicating the impact of donations and making it as straightforward as possible for individuals to contribute. 

Yet, signing up as a monthly donor was cumbersome, requiring extensive manual entry of information, leading to high dropout rates and manual input errors. These issues hindered the donation process and created significant administrative burdens. Moreover, maintaining transparency and compliance with stringent regulatory standards is crucial for the organisation to build and maintain donor trust​​.

We chose Brite as a payment partner to make it even easier to support Suicide Zero’s work, particularly for signing up as a monthly donor. Brite’s solution was exactly what we needed.

Solution

To address these challenges, Suicide Zero implemented Brite Data Solutions product, which provides an Account Information Service (AIS). Using this product, Sucide Zero was able to streamline their donation process, particularly for monthly donors. Brite’s AIS solution automates the collection of address and account information via BankID, significantly reducing the number of form fields required and eliminating manual entry errors. 

This integration has made the donation process more user-friendly and efficient, reducing dropouts and administrative workload. Data Solutions also ensures that the organisation adheres to high regulatory standards, further building donor trust. The streamlined process has resulted in a smoother donor experience, increased conversion rates, and operational efficiency, allowing Suicide Zero to focus more on its core mission of suicide prevention​​.
